Maverick in Las Vegas: The Pilot Is What the Reviews Remember

Travel Analysts
We read 283 TripAdvisor reviews of Maverick Helicopters, written between June 2025 and September 2026 and collected without filtering by rating. All 283 are at four or five stars, and 64.3% mention the pilot. That window is kinder than the listing as a whole, which publishes 4.7. The low ratings exist: in a separate set we read but do not count, a complaint that recurs is the seat on the Strip flight.

Maverick's recent reviews are, first, reviews of the person flying. Of the 283, 64.3% mention the pilot, often by first name, and usually for the same two things: explaining what you are looking at and making the flight feel safe.
“Our pilot Jordan was excellent, a lot of valuable information and a great pilot that helped make you safe.”
— TripAdvisor, 5 stars, September 2026
“A special mention to Neal, who was a fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable pilot.”
— TripAdvisor, 5 stars, September 2026
| Reviews that mention… | Share of the 283 |
|---|---|
| 🧑✈️ The pilot | 64.3% |
| 🏜️ The landing | 21.9% |
| 💵 Mentions the price or says it was worth it | 21.6% |
| 🌃 The Strip | 12.0% |
| 🛡️ Feeling safe | 12.0% |
After the pilot come the landing, mentioned in 21.9% of the reviews, and the price, usually as a judgment that the flight was worth it, in 21.6%.
The trade-off: a product that reviewers remember by the pilot's name depends on who you get. In this sample nobody got a pilot they rated below four stars, which is as much as a set of reviews can tell you.
The low ratings, read but not counted
None of the 283 reviews in the sample is below four stars, so this article cannot give a rate for anything that goes wrong. We also collected a separate set of 200 reviews from Maverick's low ratings. They are quoted here and never counted.
A complaint that recurs in them is the seat, often on the Strip flight, where the route means some seats see more of the lights than others.
“On the helicopter, not all seats are equal.”
— TripAdvisor, 1 star, May 2026
“Middle right back seat has no actual direct strip views.”
— TripAdvisor, 2 stars, April 2025
What stands out is how often the same low-rated reviews still praise the pilot.
“The pilot was great but the scenery was yuk.”
— TripAdvisor, 2 stars, April 2025
Who decides your seat, and why the scale does, is covered in our article on helicopter seats.
The trade-off: a seat assigned by weight is what keeps the aircraft balanced, and on a short Strip loop it decides how much of the view you get. If the view matters more than the price, ask about a front-seat option when you book.
Refunds and resellers
Another theme in the low-rated set is refunds, and in several of them the issue is who handles the money when the booking was made through a reseller.
“Be warned if you book via Tripadvisor/Viator then you're told to chase the refund yourself, not the helicopter operators problem as you didnt book direct.”
— TripAdvisor, 1 star, August 2023
That review is three years older than most of the sample, and policies change. Reviewers describe the same pattern with other operators, and it is explained in our article on booking a Las Vegas tour without getting burned.
The trade-off: a reseller can make booking easier and adds a second company between you and the refund. If a cancellation would leave you out of pocket, book where the refund is handled by the company that flies you.

Method and Limits
This article measures one operator: 283 TripAdvisor reviews of the Maverick Helicopters listing, collected without filtering by rating and written between June 2025 and September 2026. All 283 are at four or five stars. A further 200 reviews collected from low ratings only were read for patterns and are quoted, never counted; they cover earlier years as well.
The sample averages 4.97 stars; the listing published 4.7, on more than eight thousand reviews, when we read it in October 2026. The sample covers about fifteen months, so its figures describe that window and not the listing's full history.
Percentages are shares of the 283 reviews that mention a theme, found by pattern and then read. With no low-rated reviews in the sample, nothing here is a failure rate, and the low-rated themes are described, not measured. This is an article about one listing; it does not compare Maverick with other operators, whose samples cover different years.
Quotes are reproduced exactly as written, including the writers' spelling, and each was checked word for word against the stored review. Prices, flight lengths, inclusions, seating options and cancellation policies are set by the operator and change.
